Disclaimer

What to expect from Pixel Font Generator: the output is styled Unicode text, and how it renders can vary between apps and devices.

This disclaimer sets out the limits of what Pixel Font Generator does, so you know what to expect from the styled text it produces.

The Output Is Unicode Text

Pixel Font Generator creates styled text by swapping ordinary letters for retro styled Unicode characters. It does not install fonts, generate images, or change your device settings. The result is a string of standard characters that happens to look like pixel or 8-bit lettering.

Rendering Can Vary

Because the output relies on Unicode characters, how it appears depends on the app, device and fonts wherever you paste it. A style that looks perfect in one place may render differently, or show as fallback boxes, in another. We describe these differences honestly throughout our guides, but we cannot control how every third party app displays text.

In short: preview a style where you plan to use it before relying on it. This is the single best way to avoid surprises.

Platform Names

Our guides mention platforms such as Discord, Instagram and YouTube only to describe where copied text can be pasted and how it tends to behave there. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of these platforms. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Search And Accessibility

Styled Unicode text is treated differently from plain letters by search engines and screen readers. It may not be searchable and may be read aloud oddly. For anything that needs to be found or read by assistive technology, keep the important words in plain text. Our accessibility guide explains this in full.

No Guarantee Of Results

We provide the tool and guides to help you create retro styled text, but we cannot guarantee a specific outcome in any given app, nor that a platform will accept styled text in every field. Use your own judgement, especially for permanent choices like usernames or brand marks.

Font Files And Licences

Where our guides discuss downloadable pixel font files, we offer general information only. We do not distribute font files, and it is your responsibility to check the licence of any font you download before using it, particularly for commercial work.
